great but not so great

by john_bradley on February 8, 2013 written for Amada V-AC-500

3/5

I used to own one, It is made to cut out shapes out of the center of plates and has the ability to follow a heavy pattern. It can cut aluminum plates, I used to make pie safes and attaches aluminum to wood as doors. The bad news is that saw table has no openings to remove the blade. Inorder to change the blade you need to cut and weld it that's why I sold it.

Saw Shop Forman

This saw is by far the most costly to keep running, in the past 2 years we have spent over $17,000 in repairs on a saw that is only 4 years old

Made in the USA

A nice piece of equipment. What I like about it is it’s still made in the USA. It makes accurate cuts. Way better than my old saw.

Powermatic 140 Review

by Dave S on October 9, 2012 written for PowerMatic 140

4/5

I got this saw pre-tweaked. It is based on a pair of well-engineered iron castings which makes it a very rigid machine. Less vibration due to its precisely balanced cast iron wheels. This machine has the basic four that I am looking for a band saw: value, convenience, precision and durability.

Excellent

5/5

True to its product description, it is for high production, accuracy and economic cutting. All its product features are good. What is excellent for me is its drive wheel transmission which provides high efficiency speed reduction.

4 stars

The set-up was easy. The directions were also very easy, thus, the convenience. I just made some few adjustments to it and now it's solid. I did not use the blades that come with it. I ordered my blades from www.sawblade.com. Cuts like butter!

Still Running

After 20 years this saw is still working like the day we installed it, We use the Folks at HEM saw to keep it tuned and in cutting straight, I have to say the factory support here in St. Louis is top grade

3 – wheel band saw

by Timothy on August 2, 2012 written for Inca 710

2/5

Of all the 3-wheel band saws, this is the only one I would ever consider using. However, I would not call it as a heavy duty machine. My issues with this saw are blades keep breaking and replacement parts are drying up.
